How to Search the Morocco Court Docket
Start at Indiana MyCase and pick Case, Name, or Attorney. A full case number works best. Without one, run a party name. Then filter by Newton Circuit Court, Newton Superior Court, category, status, or filing dates. No Morocco court selector exists. The official directory and the Odyssey list name no town court.
Clicking a result opens the chronological case summary, or CCS. Check the court, case number, filing date, type, parties, and status first. Trust the event list only after that. Rely on the newest dated entries for current settings. If the case is missing, old, confidential, or short a document, call the Newton County Clerk at 219-474-6081. Or visit the counter at 201 N. Third Street in Kentland.
- Enter the exact case or citation number first.
- Use a narrow party-name search as a fallback.
- Select the likely Newton court and case category.
- Confirm the number, type, parties, and file date.
- Read the latest event and current setting.
- Request the exact missing record from the Clerk.
Morocco’s 1,081-Person Court Route
The 2020 Census counted 1,081 people in Morocco across 493 households. That makes it the second-largest incorporated place on Newton County's five-town list. Those numbers describe the town only. Indiana's court structure still sends Morocco-linked cases to the two county trial courts. The one unified county clerk handles the records. The official Census incorporated-place table displays the underlying figures.

The table fixes Morocco's spot in the county. It says nothing about filings, pending cases, or hearing volume, so never use it to estimate a court docket load.
The Morocco Municipal Court
Indiana Courts names no Morocco municipal or town court. There is no judge, Odyssey node, payment page, or court calendar for one either. A Morocco court docket is really a Newton County docket tied to a Morocco address, party, citation, or event. Town Hall keeps no such record. The official Town of Morocco site covers the town's administrative side.

Bring town questions to Town Hall. For a CCS, hearing, court payment, filed document, or certified copy, use Newton Superior Court, Newton Circuit Court, or the county clerk.
Morocco Town Hall and Court Records
You will find Morocco Town Hall at 208 E. State Street, Morocco, IN 47963. The public phone is 219-285-2070. Town Hall handles ordinance text and town-government routing well. It does not hold the Newton Circuit or Superior Court case file. The Morocco government page documents that local channel.

The split is simple. Ask Town Hall about the town. Ask the Newton County Clerk about a CCS, filing, order, judgment, or copy.
| Question | Correct first contact |
|---|---|
| Morocco ordinance or town service | Town Hall, 219-285-2070 |
| Traffic or adult criminal case | Newton Superior Court, 219-474-5569 |
| Circuit-assigned case | Newton Circuit Court, 219-474-5131 |
| Public file or certified copy | Newton County Clerk, 219-474-6081 |
Morocco Court Dates and Settings
For upcoming hearings, open the Indiana Court Calendar, the official rolling public view. It spans the prior seven days and the next four weeks. Choose Newton County, then Newton Superior Court when applicable. Pick a date. Optionally add a case number or name. Results can show the case number, style, hearing description, date, time, place, judge, phone, and refresh stamp.
| County | Newton |
|---|---|
| Court | Newton Superior when available and relevant |
| Date | The date searched within the rolling public range |
| Search text | Case number or case name |
| Verification | Newest CCS order and direct court confirmation |
A Morocco-linked case may be heard in Kentland, where the county courts sit. That still does not create a Morocco court. When a Circuit setting is missing from the selector, or a hearing falls outside the public range, call Circuit Court or the Clerk.
Find a Morocco Superior Setting
Check the MyCase settings block and the newest chronology entry first. Then search Court Calendar by Newton, date, and case number. Read the court name and location. Do not assume a Morocco venue from a party's town. When an old notice conflicts with a later order, the later entry wins. Direct court confirmation settles the rest.
Newton calendar records use labels like Initial Hearing. Local civil records also show PT for final pretrial and JT for jury trial. You may see HR for hearing, and PS for proceedings supplemental. Each label marks a scheduled event, not a decision.
Setting check: Call Superior Court at 219-474-5569 when a Morocco traffic or adult criminal date is uncertain.
Calendars can shift after publication. The court posts no Morocco-specific daily docket PDF, remote-hearing page, or live-stream link, so treat the statewide interface as the whole picture.
Morocco Traffic Tickets
Local Rule 56-15 assigns every Newton County traffic case to Superior Court. To pay or look up a ticket, search Indiana ePay by UTT or ticket number. You can also use a driver's-license number. A first and last name with date of birth works too. Copy the identifier straight from the ticket.
Remember that ePay is a citation and payment lookup, not a full court history. A missing result proves neither dismissal nor payment. Re-enter the exact UTT. Search MyCase by citation or case number. Then contact Superior Court or the Clerk. The CCS adds filings, settings, events, and disposition detail the payment screen lacks. The Newton traffic court record resource explains the difference between the case file and the payment lookup. Do not ask Morocco Town Hall to certify a county traffic judgment.
Morocco’s County Deferral Option
Newton County runs a verified infraction-deferral program. The county fee is $192.50. It is $202.50 if you pay the card total online. The program carries eligibility rules plus a six-month conditional period. Remember this is a county program. It is not a Morocco municipal court program. Check eligibility through the official county process before assuming a citation qualifies.
Paying is not the same as seeking deferral. A payment through ePay may resolve an eligible payable citation under the portal's terms. Deferral demands the county program's own conditions and instructions. Contesting the citation keeps the case on the court route. For the true status, check the docket and the newest order.
Also, skip Town Hall for payment or deferral just because the ticket came from Morocco. Town Hall handles ordinance questions. Superior Court, the Clerk, and the county program hold the judicial and deferral records.
Where Morocco Cases End Up
Two courts split the Morocco caseload. Newton Circuit Court, code 56C01, takes small claims, collections, protective orders, and domestic relations. It also handles adoption, reciprocal support, juvenile matters, eviction, and other listed cases. Newton Superior Court, code 56D01, takes most adult criminal cases and every traffic case. Other matters can fall to either bench. A careful Morocco court docket search may need both codes.
Docket flow: Morocco event or citation › Newton Circuit or Superior Court › Newton County Clerk CCS › Court of Appeals of Indiana if appealed
The Newton County Clerk keeps the court records for both trial courts. An appeal leaves its own trail: a notice of appeal, transcript request, or appellate cross-reference may still show in the trial CCS, but the appeal runs on a separate docket. Town Hall holds no duplicate court record.
Morocco Court Docket Fields
A public CCS packs in a lot. It can show the case number, court, filing date, case type, caption, status, parties, counsel, chronological events, settings, selected document links, financial data, disposition, and cross-references. Criminal cases may add charge statutes and classifications. Civil cases may show complaints, answers, motions, service, judgment, appeal, and post-judgment steps.
- 56D01
- Newton Superior Court, the first court to check for Morocco traffic and most adult criminal matters.
- 56C01
- Newton Circuit Court, which holds named civil, family, juvenile, and protective categories.
- CCS
- Chronological case summary, Indiana’s dated court event register.
- UTT
- The ticket identifier used as the first ePay search field.
- Converted Event
- An older event migrated into Odyssey, not a new case act.
Treat MyCase as a discovery view. It is not the official court record. Its financial figures can run incomplete or stale, and not every event links to a document, so confirm any key date, result, balance, or certified paper with the court or the Clerk.
Public Access to Morocco Court Records
Access starts with the rules. Indiana Access Rule 4 opens court records to the public, while Access Rule 5 lists what stays closed: specified whole cases, documents, and data. Sealed cases, juvenile information, protected identifiers, victim and witness details, medical or mental-health information, and other listed material may be withheld or redacted.
Need public material that is not online? Call the Clerk or send a particular request. Include the court code, case number, event or document title, date, copy type, return address, and contact information. Mail goes to Newton County Clerk, PO Box 49, Kentland, IN 47951. The court reporter handles transcripts; the clerk supplies filed records and certification.
Excluded record: Access Rule 9 provides a verified request and possible public hearing route. It is not an ordinary Morocco docket-search option.
Morocco Court Workload Context
Indiana trial and probation statistics page: the official statewide source for annual court data.

Hard numbers for the Morocco court itself are thin. Filing totals that describe the town docket simply are not published in a form you can read. A headcount of residents tells you nothing about how many cases the court hears. The workload measures Newton does publish cover its two county courts. They do not cover the Morocco municipal docket.
That limit is actually helpful. A Morocco court docket search works best when you hunt by party name, citation, court code, case number, or date. Statistics can sketch the system. They cannot find one hearing, and they never prove how a case came out.
When Morocco Records Are Missing
Start over with the exact case, citation, or UTT number. Restore or drop hyphens and leading zeroes as the MyCase search tips allow. A name that pulls too many results? Narrow it by Newton court, category, status, and filing date. A blank ePay points you to MyCase. A blank Court Calendar points you to the CCS and a call to the court.
Next, ask the Clerk for the exact public record. Name the item: a CCS, event, order, judgment, plain copy, certified copy, or transcript, all by name. Town Hall fits only ordinance or town administrative records. This fallback chain keeps each request with the right office.
Phone numbers help too. A Morocco ordinance question can begin at 208 E. State Street. Or call Town Hall at 219-285-2070. Take a Morocco traffic or adult criminal docket question to Superior Court at 219-474-5569 instead. Circuit-assigned case questions go to 219-474-5131. The Clerk at 219-474-6081 holds the public file for either court. These four contacts keep a missing online result from landing at the wrong desk.
Note: Morocco marks the local connection. The Newton court prefix and clerk mark the official judicial file.
